Description
The FEV N-TEC 2.25 kg electrical gas fire suppression system is a permanently installed motorsport fire suppression solution using residue-free extinguishing gas (FK5-1-12). It was developed for closed-cockpit racing and rally cars and is approved under FIA Technical List 16 for non-international competitions.
The system uses electrical activation and discharges the extinguishing gas through 6 fine atomising nozzles (4 in the engine bay, 2 in the cockpit). The specially developed nozzles produce a very fine mist that covers a large surface area and enables extremely rapid extinguishing times.
The system uses FK5-1-12 gas as its extinguishing agent. It is highly effective against vehicle fires, leaves no residue, contains no water, does not harm vehicle electrics and causes no corrosion. The gas is also non-toxic and therefore safe for vehicle occupants.
